Resolution is asked for in dots per inch, which is the way of saying it that does not depend on paper size: 150 dpi reads comfortably on screen and 300 is print quality.

- What resolution should I use?
- 150 dpi for screen, 300 for print. Above 300 the file grows a lot and the improvement is hard to see when the source is vector text.
- Which format suits me?
- PNG if the page is text and graphics, which is the usual case and where JPEG leaves mush around the letters. JPEG or WebP if the page is mostly a photograph.
- Why did a very large page come out smaller than I asked?
- There is a pixel ceiling per page so the tab does not run out of memory. An A0 at 600 dpi would be a gigapixel; in that case the scale is lowered by exactly as much as needed.
