Frequently asked questions
- Why do my photos already look upright before I rotate them?
- Because the page reads the camera’s EXIF orientation and applies it when opening the image. What you see in the thumbnail is therefore what everyone else will see.
- Is quality lost when rotating?
- Rotating by multiples of 90 degrees only rearranges pixels, so no. Any loss comes from re-encoding into a lossy format.
- Can I rotate by an arbitrary angle?
- No. Free angles force interpolation and a decision about the empty corners, and that needs a preview this tool does not have.
