Rotate and flip

Quarter turns, and horizontal or vertical flips.

Rotate images in quarter turns and flip them horizontally or vertically. Both can be combined in a single pass.

Unlike turning a photo in the system viewer, the rotation here is applied to the actual pixels, not to an orientation tag that every program then interprets as it pleases.

How to use it

  1. Add the badly oriented images.
  2. Choose the angle and, if needed, the flip.
  3. Process and download.

Frequently asked questions

Why do my photos already look upright before I rotate them?
Because the page reads the camera’s EXIF orientation and applies it when opening the image. What you see in the thumbnail is therefore what everyone else will see.
Is quality lost when rotating?
Rotating by multiples of 90 degrees only rearranges pixels, so no. Any loss comes from re-encoding into a lossy format.
Can I rotate by an arbitrary angle?
No. Free angles force interpolation and a decision about the empty corners, and that needs a preview this tool does not have.
